Elizabeth McGovern (1961 - ... )

Elizabeth McGovern - nascida em Evanston (Illinois), a 18 de Julho de 1961 - é uma actriz norte-americana.

A sua primeira actuação no cinema foi em 1980, no premiado "Ordinary People" ("Gente Vulgar"), ewalizado por Robert Redford.

Em 1982, foi nomeada ao Óscar na categoria de melhor actriz secundaria pela sua actuação no filme "Ragtime" (1981). No mesmo ano, foi também nomeada ao Globo de Ouro, pelo mesmo filme, como actriz jovem mais promissora do ano. É, actualmente, reconhecida pelo seu papel em "Downton Abbey", premiada série do canal britânico ITV.
