Leonidas Frank Chaney, mais conhecido como Lon Chaney - nascido em Colorado Springs, a 1 de Abril de 1883, e falecido em Hollywood, a 26 de Agosto de 1930, foi um actor norte-americano, filho de pais surdos-mudos.
Chaney especializou-se em representar personagens monstruosos, atormentados e grotescos, extremamente bem caracterizados, tendo ele próprio inventado uma técnica de maquilhagem. Passou a ser chamado, pelos críticos de cinema da época, " O homem das mil faces ".
Em 1957, foi retratado no filme "The Man of a Thousand Faces", pelo actor James Cagney.
É pai do também actor Lon Chaney Jr..
