Melissa Chessington Leo - nascida em Nova Iorque, a 14 de Setembro de 1960 - é uma consagrada actriz norte-americana.
Tornou-se conhecida pelo seu papel no seriado de televisão "Homicide: Life on the Street", onde participou até à 5ª temporada. Foi presença constante nas séries "All My Children", "The Young Riders" e "Treme".
No cinema, destacou-se em "21 Gramas" ("21 Grams") e "Os Três Enterros de um Homem" ("The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada"). Em 2009, recebeu a sua primeira nomeação ao Óscar de melhor actriz por "Rio Gelado" (Frozen River").
Em 2011, ganhou o Óscar de melhor actriz secundária, pelo seu papel em "The Fighter - Último Round" ("The Fighter"), trabalho pelo qual também foi premiada com o Globo de Ouro e o Prémio Screen Actors Guild.
